Personal Productivity & Connecting, Two Keys to Entrepreneurial Success
In what promises to be an unusual lecture, Consulting Professor Eric Lee Smith from Philadelphia will be sharing the secrets of personal productivity and networking that he has learned over a lifetime of entrepreneurship and business.
One of Eric's nicknames, given by a co-worker is "Mister Longarms." Now why that name? Is it because he is tall and has long arms? No. It's because of the number of people Eric knows well, is "connected to," and these connections mean he can touch many (many) people from almost anywhere in the world. Eric knows 208 "bigshots" - movers and shakers in this world - how many do you know? He touches base regularly with 44 business people, how many do you touch base with? He has 40 close friends, 10 from childhood. What about you? He has "10 friend candidates," that is, 10 people that he and Alonna want to become best friends with. How many do you have? And so on - altogether he knows 1454 people, "collected" over a lifetime. THAT'S why the name 'Mr. Longarms" fits. So how did he make that happen? Come to the workshop and find out.
Knowing people is important, but more important is being productive, staying focused, and getting things done. 'Doctor Smith' has 56 life goals, which he tracks weekly, one of which is "NUS Penn Program Mentor," another of which is "NUS Shared Professor." How many do you have? He has seven ongoing projects he's working on for clients and seven more professional projects. How many do you have at school? He follows a total of 47 current projects, personal and professional. How many do you have?
But so what?
Here's what: research proves that people who work in projects get more done, MUCH more.
But how do you do that? Those who attend the event will learn how and will be introduced to the most important book that 'Professor Smith' has ever read, the book is called....called.... but wait.... you must attend in order to find that out.
The 'workshop' will be totally solutions oriented, not theoretical. There will be some group exercises and lots of give and take. 'Professor Longarms' (hey, I like the sound of that one!) will also demonstrate various techniques and will show actual examples of most solutions that he espouses.
